It is my pleasure to welcome you to Academic Language Development.  I'll be your teacher this year, and as you can tell from my personal biography on this blog, I am a native Texan who is in love with educating young minds.

I look forward to getting to know all of you better and to helping you discover your voice both inside and outside of the classroom.

Materials you will need for class:

• 3D Issues textbook (provided)
• 3D Portfolio (provided)
• Composition or spiral notebook
• Pens, pencils, highlighters

What to expect this week:

• Getting to know you activities (no silly games, I promise)
• Diagnostic (to see where you are in terms of language)
• Learning about classroom procedures (what I tolerate and expect)
• Material distribution
